Revelation 13:8 KJV — And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Revelation 21:27 KJV — And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

Revelation 22:19 KJV — And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

The Book of Life is mentioned four times in the book of Revelation. Each time a blessing is conferred upon those whose name are found written in the book. Conversely, condemnation is the destiny foretold upon those whose name is not found in the book of life. Yet the importance, relevance, purpose of the book of life in one’s Christian experience is hardly known to most people today. Can the reason for this fact be that, we His people, are again ignorant, have a misunderstanding of God’s true purpose. And as a result of this ignorance, are we similarly unprepared for the events that are about to transpire? If this premise is true, how do we rectify this deficiency? What means has God provided for His church to gain the knowledge we are lacking in order that we may cooperate with Him in fulfilling His purpose and be prepared for the events that are soon to transpire?

Revelation 1:3 states: Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. 1 John 5:20 states that “God has given us an understanding…” The answer is found in the Bible. God gave man the Bible to be understood.
